Wherever you look — and listen — there will be fireworks around Lane County over the Fourth of July weekend.
And when it comes to organizing fireworks shows, it’s probably a good idea to leave it to experienced practitioners.
The Active 20-30 Club of Eugene, for example, will be sponsoring one of Eugene’s largest fireworks shows — for the 65th consecutive year. The club will host the “Freedom Festival Fireworks” show at Alton Baker Park on Monday, which will conclude the three-day Art in the Vineyard celebration, a fundraiser for the Maude Kerns Art Center. The club is also offering a free children’s area at Art in the Vineyard that will include patriotic games, face painting, balloons and other activities.
For those who can’t wait until Monday, the place to be is the Eugene Pro Rodeo, where fireworks will be set off on four consecutive nights, beginning tonight at 9:45 p.m. The rodeo is at the Oregon Horse Center, 90751 Prairie Road.
Other fireworks shows on Monday include:
Light of Liberty Celebration — The annual event at Springfield’s Island Park, 200 West B St., begins at 4 p.m. and concludes with fireworks at 10 p.m. Musical headliners this year are the ’50s rock ’n’ roll legends Sha Na Na. Admission is $5 in advance and $7 at the event.
Annual Oakridge/Westfir Community Fireworks Display — The free event begins at 3 p.m. Monday at the Circle Bar Golf Course in Oakridge. Hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages will be available for purchase, or people can bring their own picnic, but no outside alcohol is allowed. A beer garden will be available for those over age 21. Bring a blanket or chairs for watching the fireworks show from the golf course lawn. Legal fireworks may be brought and lighted prior to the fireworks show. Music will include a DJ, karaoke and the local band Backfire. The venue will include a tie-dye booth; people can bring their own T-shirt and tie-dye it for a requested donation of $5, or buy a tie-dye shirt. Proceeds from shirt and food sales will go to the community’s fireworks fund. For more information, search Facebook for “Annual Fireworks Display” or contact Viki Burns, 541-782-1124, 541-782-4241 or Viki.Echo@gmail.com; Candis McMurtrie, 541-206-7836; or Karen Holland, 541-782-4930 or 541-782-2558.

Creswell — The Creswell Chamber of Commerce Breakfast will run from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holt Park between Fourth and Fifth streets.
