Bethel Community Park

The best way to describe Bethel Community Park is 33 acres of fun for the whole family! This park has more in one location than almost any other park in Eugene. Home to the Babe Ruth Baseball facility and a very nice skate park, this park also offers an impressive playground too.

You can find this park a couple of ways. The two most popular ways is to take Legacy Street off of Barger Drive or Avalon Street off of N. Terry Street. With almost 200 parking spaces, including ample handicapped parking, and plenty of outdoor lighting, this park is well equipped. This park is also very close to Meadow View Elementary School on Barger, providing easy access to countless hours of after school play time.

The playground is divided into two areas. One area is designed for 2 – 5yr olds, while the other half is suited for 5 – 12yr olds. Both have nice play structures, with slides, tunnels, towers, climbing structures and swings. The tiny tots area also has spring loaded structures to ride, a balancing bar, and other various equipment. The area for the older children has more swings, a larger play structure with slides, including a twisting, turning slide, monkey bars, and a climbing structure that also is an amazing work of art. This is very popular with children, both young and old, to climb on.

A basketball court has two hoops and doubles as a 2,400sq ft performance arena which can be rented for special performances. A covered picnic area is near by, and has 3 picnic tables. Other picnic tables are scattered around the playground. Bathrooms are near by as are water fountains and trash cans. A dog park, water play area and trails that border the near by wetlands are planned for the future hopefully.

The skate park is a popular attraction for skaters, BMX bikers and an occasional brave roller-blader. While some kids practiced their moves and performed some stunts, a dad watched near by and even tried a few moves himself, before handing the skate board back to the younger boy in defeat.

So whether you have a kid in Babe Ruth Baseball or a child who loves to come to the playground, or a performance to come to, the Bethel Community Park offers many opportunities. This is definitely a park worth visiting, whether you live near by or across town.
